Hey everyone. It has been a lot of fun. We just sold our Tippmans and have gotten into airsoft. So far we are enjoying it a bit more and it is costing us a lot less. I still think paintball is an awesome sport for those who can afford the paint and time to maintenance markers but it would be nice if The Swamp hosted airsoft games as well as paintball. Has there been any consideration of this or discussion?
Currently we are driving all the way to Ballahack in Chesapeake for a good day of scenario games. The place is awesome but too far to drive. I am surprised that airsoft is not more popular....more ammo for less, no big hopper and pods, no paint quality issues, no mess, all day small battery instead of big tank and air refills, no giant welts, more options in weapons, a little longer range and the rules are pretty much the same as paintball. The only disatvantage with airsoft I have seen so far is potential of cheating. The game requires honor as the bbs do not leave a mark. So far it has not seemed to be an issue though.
We would even be willing to pay more for field use due to the understandable loss of profit to The Swamp on air and paint. We are paying $20 per day at Ballahack but even at that, we are saving tremendously on ammo. With this savings, we could play more often which would also be a "win win" situation for The Swamp and the players. Might accually get too busy?! Stick us in the woods with another ref while the paintballers are on the field and vise versa. We could even have a game of paintball versus airsoft or mixed on both teams! On second thought, keep us seperated. I don't want any paint on my new M249 saw. ;D
